It’s been some time since my last proper flame on a fic. Sometimes I still get those “kill yourself” messages but a real flame is rare.

Today I got two, (so far) and I’m kind of surprised by my own reaction.

For one thing, I’m mostly puzzled. For another thing, the rest of me feels largely bemused.

Who knew! Eventually you do get too old for the BS!

That, my dears, is cause for celebration!

it’s so heartwarming seeing the sasuhina fandom get more artists and writers ;w;

this crack ship means so much to me and it’s amazing knowing there’s still people finding out about it and enjoying it!!!!

i agree! all these new baby sasuhinas. they’re so cute!

Someone is reading Switch-a-roo all in one go, leaving a review for each chapter.

They are writing reviews in spanish, and quoting the parts they like and
I got messages from people thanking me for updating
AND someone told me that my transitions were spot on
I have literally been sitting here blushing so hard my ears actually hurt. Genuinely.

You guys are so sweet. Thank you. I love writing for the sake of writing but to have others enjoy it is in and of itself such a huge gift to me. You don’t even know.

Who just finished another long winded chapter of Switch?
Me, that’s who.
My brain hurts guys.
I am not responsible for quality at this point. Take it up with the muses. If you can find them.
Editing and will be posting in a couple of hours.

on FF.net I have a single message in my inbox. It has been there for the larger part of ten years.

I check my inbox. It’s pretty full with messages I have answered for many years… but the unread message doesn’t show. It hangs out there, a single solitary number (1) next to my inbox, taunting me.

I have opened every. Single. Message in my inbox. There are hundreds.
The number one does not go away.
It stays.
Resolute in it’s destruction of my sanity.

….I’m annoyed. Can anyone tell?

People have written a lot of touchy-feely pieces on this subject but I thought I’d get right to the heart of the matter

This is 1000% more motivating than every preachy “real writers write every day” post on all of Tumblr.

I call this the “two cakes” rule and remind myself of it when I start comparing myself to other people.

….OH.
