Nonnie! I wrote and answer to this and instead of posting it, i saved it! Here’s my belated answer to this very thought provoking question!
First of all, I like SasuHina in particular because I really enjoy broken wounded characters. (that sounds terrible! ) In a story that kind of character cannot remain static. Where Naruto is delightful I find him so endearing that to change him would mean exploring a broken or flawed Naruto and in my mind at least the story would be centered around making him shine again. I just don’t have the stomach for that. So Sasuke, and Hinata too- to a less obvious extent always have somewhere to go. They are all primed for growth and change.
That being said I am also a huge dork for tropes so here’s where I tend to go when I do have the time and energy to read fanfiction:
In no particular order!
Highschool AU: I like highschool, in japan and in the west, I just love it. The time of life has such a perfect setting for daily interaction with people you would not generally be forced to speak to. It is a time of growth, a time of bad choices to learn new wisdom and I mean the trope fields are ripe for the picking in a highschool setting. There’s brooding delinquent saving the book nerd, the heartthrob who notices the bullied girl, the private tutoring, the getting into fights, the weird social pressures and peers everywhere watching everything, commenting, interfering, family still living with you to watch you go through it all. It’s just glorious- heck I may write another one of these one day. Example of one I liked that comes off the top of my head
is https://archiveofourown.org/works/11108775/chapters/26341368. This one is one part highschool AU two parts Soul Mates AU and i love it.
Modern AU: I think that this one is difficult… I like certain kinds of modern AU. Sometimes they fall into things like Coffee Shop or University or other known types of stories but honestly I like exploring the characters in a modern setting because it forces the writers to bend the characters usual behavior to the culture which is so so different from in universe. Also, often these are set with adult versions of Sasuke and Hinata which I really enjoy as well. Example of one I liked a lot Larkspur https://archiveofourown.org/works/10933875/chapters/24324420 by @newrageinc and also https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12128925/1/Eyes-Wide-Open by @lpitchcatl
In Universe One Shots: There are a lot of one shots that I have loved and cannot name all of them right now, but I don’t often read in universe long stories. Not because I don’t like them but because they are so numerous that sifting through them is hard for me. A couple One shots I can recommend though:Bone White https://archiveofourown.org/works/12280812 by @orangeflavoryawp
and CPR https://archiveofourown.org/works/10933875/chapters/24324420,
and https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12361792/1/The-Golden-Ratio by @giada-luna <—this one has a bunch of stuff to read 🙂
And last by not least, I have been surprised by writers before in this little corner of the fandom. They take concepts I have never considered and play with them in ways that make me squirm with joy! An example of this is a mermaid AU also by the wonderful Giada Luna called Between the Devil and the Deep https://www.fanfiction.net/s/12600857/1/Between-the-Devil-and-the-Deep
That one is ongoing and beautiful! Also!
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11706112/1/All-That-Glitters-Is-Taboo by @elreinodeloscielos has caught my interest and is in my current reading pile.
So… in the end I like all things SasuHina that involve in character development, great writing, an interesting premise, whether it involves tropes or not. Well written is the key!
Okay so that was a weird reply to this ask but what can I say? I’m a chatterbox when I’m typing. I’m sorry!
i hope this is kind of what you were wondering Nonnie… otherwise uh… ask me again! Let’s see what other nonsense I come up with!
Much Love,
Inky

Dear nonnie, I hope someone up above hears ya- although thankfully today was a glorious kind of snow day! I had the kind of happy days that only happen occasionally so I’m hopeful that this will jump start some of my normal creativeness. Once the work really starts flowing I will post a warning so everyone can brace themselves for the inevitable word tsunami that will happen haha
Thank you so much for the message, it made my happy day even more brilliant! And thank you for reading my nonsense story! 🙂

….do you not like girl scout cookies? I mean, come on. whenever the door rings that’s my second thought.
“I hope I dont get murdered.” Followed by. “Please god. Let them have cookies.”
No? No? Just me? A’ight.

WRITE IT BADLY. Write it badly, write it badly, write it badly, write it badly. Stop what you’re doing, open a Word document, put a pencil on some paper, just get the idea out of your head. Let it be good later. Write it down now. Otherwise it will die in there.
Goddamnit

Argh. Words.

Sometimes I need to dilute the air I breath with smoke. It’s just too fresh for someone as tarnished as I am.
