Literally one of my favourite facts ever is that J. M. Barrie, Rudyard Kipling, H. G. Wells, Arthur Conan Doyle, P. G. Wodehouse, A. A. Milne, as well as the son of Alfred Tennyson and many others played on the same amateur cricket team AND THEY WERE TERRIBLE how great is that

I’ve reblogged it before, I’ll reblog it again.

This is amazing. Crazy, but amazing.

@copperbadge Did you know this?

I knew the team existed and some of the players but I didn’t realize the rogue’s gallery in its entirety. I’m quite excited to see Hornung on there, he holds a special place in my heart, and I hope he and HG Wells sat around coming up with weird steampunk scifi heist stories.

Any writers in Chicago want to form an epically bad soccer team with me? I’m actually flexible on the sport, but we must be terrible and, if we aren’t, we must pretend we are.

…..this Is the only team I would drop everything to join. Omg
