Dear Reylos,
I have never read fanfiction before “The Force Awakens”. I have always been passionate and I belong to many fandoms, but I wasn’t really interested by fanfiction. Not that I had preconceptions. Besides, I love reading. It is just that I didn’t considered it before… Reylo.
Yes! Like many fans of the ship, I got out of the theater, after watching TFA for the first time, certain that Rey and Kylo Ren were going to end up together. But as soon as I started sharing my impressions with my friends and family, it turned out that I was the only one who considered the possibility of a romance between the two characters.
“Well! I guess I read too much manga!” I thought.
Then, I went on Tumblr. And a new world opened to me. Not only did I discover that there were so many people who shared my view, but also that there were fabulous, wonderful creations celebrating the ship. It took me this long (I am snapping my fingers here) to dive into the realm of Reylo fanfictions.
It is such a beautiful thing when fiction can inspire such talented people to create and share their own work. And the relationship between Rey and Kylo Ren is so fascinating, so full of potential! Some of the stories created by the writers I have read are so beautiful, so well-written that I can’t get them out of my head.

Reading your creations is a delight, so I want to say to each of you: “thank you”!
You have written (and hopefully continue creating) such fantastic fanfiction! You have the talent of true writers. I appreciate the work and thought you put in writing these stories. Knowing that you give so much effort against so little in return (apart from the comments left by some of your readers…which are quite the reward on their own) feels me with gratitude.
And thank you to every fanfiction writer (whose stories I haven’t discovered yet), every illustrator, meta writer, graphic designer and to all those who share their creations of Tumblr and around the internet.
This Reylo fandom is full of creative and talented people. It feels to me like a huge group of friends who share a common love for Star Wars and that particular ship that seems so controversial but still is a source of such beautiful creativity.
Whatever if Reylo becomes canon one day. I don’t think it is the issue. The important thing is that it has motivated so many of us to be creative and to bring us together, somehow, even if we are from different parts of world.
Please, don’t let some mean comments, or the lack of receptivity demotivate you. You will always have someone who will appreciate your work.
Kind regards,
Last Mouse Left
*Sorry! I couldn’t find your tumblr profiles! I hope you will get to read this still.
Thank you for such lovely and thoughtful words. I’m grinning.
Thank you so much dear! 😀
What a lovely thing for a reader to say to other creators! I hope you all see it!
