When you were a kid, a teacher might have asked you to write two pages double spaced on a topic. That would have been 500 words.
Most fic writers are dealing in single space.
Don’t complain when their update is “only” between 500 and 1K words; they are already doing more than your kid self thought was torture from your teachers.
And that 5K chapter?
12.6/20.6 pages single/double spaced.
12 or 20 pages.
Does that sound like an overnight assignment?
Don’t say “update soon!”
Say “here is a sticker, a hall pass, and mad f&%#ing props.”
